Baby Layettes to Japan
Pastor Richenda
24-March-2011
Update! We packaged 10 complete kits and they were sent out March 30. May they be a blessing to each family who receives them.
Grays River UMC is responding to the crisis in Japan by putting together 'Layette Kits' for infants in need. These kits are organized and shipped through the United Methodist relief agency UMCOR. UMCOR works internationally to reach places hard hit by natural and other emergencies. Thanks to UMCOR, United Methodists across the country have the opportunity to help those in need. The kits include receiving blankets, sleepers, diapers, washcloths, and a little jacket.
Church members have had a lot of fun putting these together and hope to have the kits completed and shipped next week.
The items for each kit must be removed from the packaging, wrapped in a receiving blanket, and pinned securely. If you want to contribute, send an email to the church, or contact a member.
Another way to contribute to those in need in this latest earthquake, UMCOR has a special fund set up which can be found here: Pacific Advance
Grays River church members also helped during the crisis in Haiti by sending health kits.
