Ash Wednesday Service

Wednesday, March 9th at 5:00pm please join us for an Ash Wednesday service, a time of reflection and return.
What is Ash Wednesday?
Ash Wednesday is the day Christians celebrate the beginning of Lent. Lent is a time of reflection, and an opportunity to encounter the light that lives within you as we move through the weeks before Easter. During this time we get to think about what it really meant for Jesus of Nazareth to lead a movement that would change the world--though it meant his own suffering to do so. His work made it possible for all of us to see clearly that those who stand up for what is right do so in the power of God. No matter how dark it may get, because of Jesus Christ we know that light will always shine.
Ash Wednesday is an opportunity for us to reflect on the work of God and Jesus. We can ask ourselves, what does it mean to be human and to be confronted with the kind of Love and Grace that comes only from the divine. Though we are mortal...we are from dust and we return to dust...yet our hearts can be filled with the Spirit of God and our lives fueled by the Love of God. All we need do is turn our lives toward God and live.
Ash Wednesday is a sacred few minutes we take to remember our mortality and God's divinity, to set aside all those things that keep us separated from the love of God, and choose to return to being the kind of person God sees in us, and calls out of us.
Hope to see you there.
